Here at Parti Tails Miniature Schnauzers we believe in using only the best health care products on the market for the health of our dogs.  At Parti Tails we use Frontline Plus for fleas, Nuvet Canine for our vitamins, and Interceptor for our heart worm preventative.  All our dogs use these products and our puppies are started on them at 8 weeks of age. We also feed Eukanuba dog food.   Below you will find some brief information on eachone. 

 Frontline Plus provides convenient and effective flea and tick control in dogs and cats, puppies and kittens. It is effective against all stages of the brown dog tick, the American dog tick, lone star tick and deer ticks (the major carrier of Lyme disease). Frontline Plus for dogs and cats is a monthly flea preventative that kills 100% of adult fleas on your pet within 18 hours and 100% of all ticks within 48 hours. Frontline Plus contains an insect growth regulator, S-methoprene, which kills flea eggs and larvaee.

Interceptor the interceptor heartworm pill for dogs comes in a chewable flavor tab and it works to prevent deadly heartworm disease in your dog. Interceptor provides protection against heartworm disease and interceptor is also used to treat and control ascarid and hookworm infections in dogs as well.

The interceptor flavor tab can be given directly into the mouth of the dog or they can be given in a portion of food. An administration of one interceptor heart worm tab should be given to a dog once a month at regular intervals. Dogs should be tested for heartworm infection, before starting a monthly interceptor regimen. This is because heartworm pet meds can actually do more harm than good if your dog already has heartworms when he takes them. Therefore, an interceptor heartworm prevention program should be started only in dogs found to be currently uninfected with them to start with
